It is found on all the Channel Islands as well as on the mainland. It is an evergreen that requires full to partial sun. The yarrow will spread so give it room to grow. It does require moderate to regular watering. On Santa Rosa Island it can be seen along the lower sections of Soledad Road and in Cherry Canyon among other locals. It has a pink flower variety that has been observed in Cherry Canyon. In the native plant garden, you will find it in a number of zones; Valley and Foothill Grassland, Island Chapparal, Island Woodland, and Coastal Bluff Scrub.
